 Canon U.S.A. to Resell FusionPro Web Collateral Management and Web to Print Solution from Printable Technologies
 

Printable Technologies®, Inc., a leading provider of integrated marketing, web to print and personalized direct marketing solutions, and Canon U.S.A., Inc.(NYSE: CA), have reached an agreement through which Canon will offer web to print solutions from Printable.

Through its imagePRESS Workflow Solutions program, Canon offers Canon-branded and third-party hardware/software solutions that focus on key workflows and production printing environments to maximize efficiencies and help printers build a profitable digital print business.  Canon will be marketing and selling Printable’s web to print solution, in conjunction with imagePRESS digital presses, to help print and marketing service providers and corporate users automate and streamline production processes to increase efficiency and productivity.

RR Donnelley to Acquire Pro Line Printing—In a move to enhance its national advertising program, RR Donnelly & Sons Company has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Pro Line Printing Inc., a privately held producer of newspaper inserts headquartered in Irving, TX for $122 million.

Products Pro Line Printing manufactures are inserted into newspapers, distributed via direct mail and used for in-store circulation. The company has production operations in Arlington, TX; Reno, NV; Avon, CT and Pineville, NC.

Geisler Appointed V.P. of Sustainability at Unisource Worldwide—Geisler, most recently Senior Director of Marketing for Packaging and Facility Supplies, has more than 25 years of marketing and consulting experience, including product and business management, communications, business development, strategic sourcing, business planning, sales and market research. Her most recent assignment was to develop marketing-related Green programs for Packaging and Facility Supplies.

Texas May Be Spared Fiscal Storm—The State economy continues to grow despite recession fears.

Texas’ economic strengths do not insulate it from the U.S. downturn, but should provide a buffer stout enough to keep the state from following the nation into any recession, stated top officials in Austin, Texas. Sales tax revenues are rising, and the “Lone Star” State outperforms the nation as a whole on jobs.  The state benefits from economic factors that have outweighed gas pump sticker stock. Other factors in Texas’ favor include rising commodity prices, growing defense spending, a weak dollar benefiting export and a reputation for a business friendly environment.

LabelArt Names Michael Vejar as Vice President of Sales—In his new position, Vejar will be responsible for driving top-line sales growth and achieving profit objectives for LabelArt.

Prior to joining LabelArt, Vejar was vice president of sales and marketing for Cenveo’s Custom Resale Group, where he managed all sales and marketing activities for Discount Labels, Inc., New Albany, Ind., Lancer Label, Omaha, Neb.; Dealer Label, Omaha, Neb.; Synergy Label, Smyrna, Gas.; and Rx Technology, Joplin, Mo. Prior to Cenveo CRG, he held the position of sales and marketing manager, and director of sales and marketing for Discount Labels.
